Our Mission

To build a diverse church of world changing disciples in order to glorify God and to re-present Him in every sphere of life.

The size– The specific number isn’t important; but we don’t want to settle for small. A larger church has the potential and resource to bring real benefit to the community, and to add its support to community initiatives. Currently we are much smaller than that, but our desire is to grow.

World changing – this isn’t imposing a ‘LifeSpring’ vision, but is rather about individuals rising to their full potential – all that God made them to be, world changers.

Disciples – We are all on a learning journey ourselves, but we can also reach out a helping hand to others – Jesus command to us is to make disciples of all nations.

In order to glorify God – the greatest privilege any of us has is to know God personally and to learn to love Him without restriction.

Re-present: As disciples we get to partner with God in Jesus and the Holy Spirit, to be the feet and hands of Jesus today. Our desire is to do this in a natural way, sharing the same compassion and mercy that we see in Jesus when he walked this earth.

In every sphere of life: Being a disciple is not restricted to one or two meetings a week, but as those who are Christ followers we can carry Godly wisdom and breakthrough into every avenue of human endeavour, be that religion, family, business, education, government/military, arts & entertainment, medicine, the media, sport, science, engineering, in fact anywhere! We believe that in God your carry the potential to be a culture setter whatever your work or life setting.

We have a big vision…. with 5 priorities….

We have set ourselves five priorities. That doesn’t mean that we have “arrived” with these, but that we are prioritising them in our church:

Presence: We believe that at the heart of our expression of church there has to be God. We are intentional about giving time to worship, and to expressing our love for God. As we do that we have found that God delights to draw near to his people. At it’s heart this is about abiding in Christ, and as we individually come together we can expect to comer into an overflow of God’s love and fulness.

Power & Authority: Power and authority are two different things, but both are essential if we are to re-present God on the earth. Power comes through the Holy Spirit, and authority from obedience. We believe that the church has a mandate to present the goodness of God to the people of the world, and we can only fully do that by doing the things Jesus did. Jesus knew that these things were signs, and that belief often came through experiencing the goodness of God, through healings, deliverance, signs and wonders. Likewise the apostle Paul said of himself “my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,  so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

Salvations: The apostle Peter said “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” We believe that we have good news to share – that Jesus came to make a way for us to be reunited with God. He paid the highest price, because of love; as the old hymn goes: “O the love that drew salvation’s plan, O the grace that brought it down to man, O the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!”

Communion and Fellowship: Loving one another is one of the greatest challenges, and again it takes being intentional about it to make time , effort, and to extend kindness. We sometimes refer to our church fellowship as ‘this house’, which reinforces the sense that we are a family. In his high-priestly prayer (John 17) Jesus prays for his disciples (and all who follow after) that they might “be one, just as You Father are in me, and I in You” (V21). Unity expresses the very nature of God, and is Jesus plan for his Church. Unfortunately that can get harder as we get to know each other, so it takes being intentional, and finding grace for all. The priority of communion springs from the same desire for unity – and speaks of both the means: Jesus death, and the body – which is the church.

A Kingdom of Priests: Everyone has a God given calling on their life. Everyone has God assignments for particular seasons. We all carry something vital to God’s kingdom. That may play out in the workplace, or in the home, or in the community. As a church we value the impact that every member makes, be that in the church, in their neighbourhood, in commerce, in education, in health care or on a world stage. We encourage everyone to find God in there own place of employment, because we believe that God alone has solutions to every problem facing this world.
